Who and Where? (gabby)

The particular quote which has drawn my attention was about the substantial differences between opportunities for education within different backgrounds and systems. “To fully evaluate the promise expressed by the expansion of postsecondary education, one needs to examine the opportunities students of different backgrounds have to attend the various institutions within that system. In other words, we need to look not just at who goes to college, but at who goes where to college” (p. 5)”. Those few words, “we need to look not just at who goes to college, but at who goes where to college,” really hit me and made me think, ” wow, one single opportunity, grant, or scholarship can really change someone’s whole career path and life.  Our lives start with college cause we’re in the progress of bettering of oneself for a better future. When you think about who goes to college and where one goes sometimes the potential just doesn’t add up.  Some people don’t care about their college careers and are only here for a few credits, but then there are those who lean on their college years for that amazing job after their degree. In the end, everyone makes something of themselves.
