1. Read “Poor Queer Studies,” by Matt Brim (this is a draft of an essay that I have submitted for publication in an academic journal, so you can get a sense of a work-in-progress rather than a finished piece of writing).
2. Write a 100-word post that responds to a specific sentence in the essay that interests or troubles or resonates with you. Explain what you the quote means within the context of the essay, and then tell why you’re interested in or troubled by the quote. Be sure to incorporate the quote into your own sentence rather than letting it stand alone as an independent sentence (you can learn more about how to do that here). Give your post a TITLE, put your first name in parentheses and TAG yourself, class3, post2.
We will spend most of next class working onĀ Sexile, so please come to class with a particular page or panel or graphic in mind that you would like to discuss.
