Bisexuality synonymous with Gender Fluidity? (Alston)

The intro to the pretty much began with a simple question, and that question was, “what did we notice about the people in the room?” We all looked around to see that the class was made up of diverse individuals from various walks of life. What we didn’t know was how each individual identified their own gender. I had a conversation recently with a close friend of mine where we briefly discussed my gender preference and sexual companion preference. I retorted that I identify as a bisexual woman. My friend delicately argued that I could possibly identify as “gender fluid” because,  I tend to love people (no matter the gender preference) for who they are, however, typically identifying as Male or Female. Interesting enough.
