Professor Brim Does It Again! (Unique)

During our last class, the location had changed due to us going to see two well known poets whose names are Tracie Morris and Rommi Smith.  These two women are very phenomenal. When I arrived at the St. George Ferry CSI’s location I truly believed no doubt in my mind that it would be slightly boring because of the simple fact that I’m not into spoken poetry. I was wrong! These two women developed strong, powerful, emotion felt poems. It was truly amazing. Neither one stood out from the other, they both developed different styles of poetry, however, the main thing they had in common is the passion they have for it.  One poem stood out to me though. That poem was called “Project Princess” by Tracie Morris. It stood out being that I’m from a low income neighborhood in Brooklyn called East New York, that is where Tracie Morris grew up as well. That poem was inspired from her upbringing. Imagine thinking highly of yourself and knowing your potential but is surrounded by many people who have different goals than you, but you still make it through regardless of your surroundings. I also enjoyed Rommi’s different personas and dramatic poems followed up by that background music making it a bit more fascinating. Thank you Professor, you’ve “wowed” me yet again!
