As everyone readied themselves to pack up and leave for the night, Day 1 concluded with the question of “what is the value of being in this class?” A question that will now stay in the back of my mind to challenge my perspective on why does anyone go to college. Many people in the class voiced that they wanted to expand their current knowledge base, however what happens to this said “knowledge”? Instead of just learning for the sake of learning, this course introduced a new approach. If we collectively believe that we’re all in this together, we can make the syllabus work for us in way that showcases our strengths. When we find value in what we do, we come away with something meaningful that we can apply not only in class, but to our everyday lives.
